A bit of a surprise twist today as the Vegas Golden Knights have gotten in on the bidding for Christopher Tanev. There are obvious cap implications, and the injury to Eichel could be a part of this. Of course, the other teams are still involved, the Devils, Leafs the Lightning and the Jets.

He's a strong, proven, defensive defenseman, who can also move the puck well. It's not surprising to see that the Florida Panthers are considering him. This is a move with an eye on the playoffs, as the loss of Gudas could impact this team more come playoff time.
Although you can be sure that Tortorella does not want to move one of his favorite players, the Flyers are looking toward the future and there are many many teams interested in Scott... The Rangers could use a third-line center, but as of this writing, I'm hearing Colorado may be the most interested, and willing to give up the most... However like everything else changes hourly. There is just too much smoke here, and Devil's ownership really wants to make something happen. They consider themselves only a goalie away from being a true Stanley Cup contender. Price will be steep with prospects, but New Jersey has a nice window here and the Eastern Conference is pretty much there for the taking.
