Fresh off a four-game road trip that went better than most thought it would, the Canadiens will be hosting the Toronto Maple Leafs tonight at the Bell Centre. It will be their first game since general manager Kent Hughes traded veteran netminder Jake Allen to New Jersey and, unsurprisingly, Samuel Montembeault will be in net for the Canadiens. With Allen gone, Montembeault and Primeau should finally see more action.
After a rough outing against Carolina on Thursday, the Canadiens will be hoping to carry on their inspired play at home against the Leafs since they've won the last five games in which they hosted Sheldon Keefe's team. However, they've lost the last three games against Toronto since they were all held in hostile territory. One way or another, a streak will end tonight.
The only change to the line-up tonight will be the insertion of Micheal Pezzetta to replace Jesse Ylonen who will be a healthy scratch. After over 100 games of NHL experience, Ylonen has yet to steal anybody's chair and one has to wonder if he'll get a qualifying offer this summer when he'll be a restricted free agent.
The came starts at 7:00 PM and since it features the Leafs, the Canadiens will be on CBC for once.
