Game 82 Preview: Flyers vs. Capitals

In the final game of the 2023-24 regular season, the Philadelphia Flyers (38-31-11) will host the Washington Capitals (39-31-11 on Tuesday evening. Game time at the Wells Fargo Center is 7:00 p.m. EDT.

The Flyers were idle on Monday but saw their remaining playoff hopes take a serious hit with all of games of significance going unfavorably for Philly. The Flyers must now defeat the Capitals in regulation and hope for regulation wins by Montreal over Detroit on Tuesday and the New York Islanders against Pittsburgh come Wednesday. Washington shut out Boston, 2-0, on Monday.

On Monday, the Flyers held practice at the FTC in Voorhees. They kept all line combinations from the previous two games intact.

The Capitals, who will be playing for the third time in four nights, need to decide whether to start Charlie Lindgren in goal for the third time in four nights (for the first time all season) or turn to Darcy Kuemper with their own season on the line. Beck Malenstyn had to leave Monday's game against Boston with an upper-body injury.

The Flyers will hold a 10:30 a.m. morning skate in Voorhees. The Capitals will not skate.
