Penguins hockey is done until October. Certain Penguins players are going to be participating in the World Championships starting on May 10th. As of now we have multiple Penguins set to compete in Czechia.

The first is Michael Bunting joining Team Canada

Bunting played really well after coming over to the Penguins. He gave the Penguins a missing aspect in how he went about his business in the tough areas blending it with some skill.

Finland is bringing two Penguins players to the tournament and they are both players who got the majority of their Penguins games this year

Both are depth players for the most part and I think the more games the better for these two. For Puustinen just getting more opportunities to play and get better against other professionals and for Puljujarvi this provides a great opportunity to continue working back from his hip surgery.

For Sweden they will be calling on the services of perhaps the Penguins most consistent defenseman in Marcus Pettersson. Pettersson is one of the most quietly good players in the NHL. His is so fundamentally sound and makes life so much easier for his defensive partners.

Lastly, heading into tonight’s lottery the Penguins have a 1.5% chance of landing the 4th overall pick. If they do not move up to 4th then they will be giving the Sharks their first-round pick. As of this moment that pick is 14th overall.
