1) Flyers Daily: In the August 14 edition of Flyers Daily, Jason Myrtetus builds upon topics discussed in Monday's Offseason Spotlight article on Joel Farabee. Jason talks about why, despite Farabee attaining career highs in goals and points last season, his stock has dropped among some fans. He talks about moving forward from a rough post All-Star break finish after a strong first 50 games of the 2023-24 season. Additionally in the 18-minute episode, Jason has a one-on-one conversation with skilled Flyers prospect Alex Ciernik.
2) The Flyers Community Caravan is rolling through Media, PA, tonight at 6 p.m. EDT. Come by for the usual assortment of games, giveaways and Flyers Alumni meet-and-greet. The event will be held Veterans Square and State Street (114 W State Street will put you closest to Veterans Square).
3) Today in Flyers History: August 14
1990: The Flyers officially announcing the hiring of Simon Nolet and Bill Dineen as scouts.
1995: The Flyers re-sign restricted free agent center Rod Brind'Amour to a three-year deal.
1997: Philadelphia inks Tampa Bay Lightning restricted free agent center Chris Gratton to a heavily front-loaded five-year ($16.5 million) offer sheet with more than half of the money payable over the first year of the deal.
2008: The Flyers sign head coach John Stevens to a two-year contract extension.
2020: The Montreal Canadiens even up the 2020 Eastern Conference Quarterfinal at one game apiece with a 5-0 whitewashing of the Flyers in Game 2 in the "Bubble".
2021: The Flyers sign 2021 second-round pick Samu Tuomaala to an entry-level contract.
