Bill Zito and the Florida Panthers have announced head coach Paul Maurice has signed a multi-year extension with the club.

“Paul Maurice signed a multiyear contract to remain coach of the Florida Panthers on Tuesday.

The 57-year-old is 98-58-15 since being named coach of the Panthers on June 22, 2022.

In his two full seasons with the Panthers, Maurice has led them to the Stanley Cup Final in each, defeating the Edmonton Oilers in seven games last year to win their first championship after losing to the Vegas Golden Knights in five games in 2023. Maurice helped the Panthers win an Atlantic Division title last season (52-24-6). Their 110 points was the second-highest point total in team history (122 points in 2021-22).”

Zito has been working hard at getting deals done to keep this Florida nucleus together.
