Bad loss and a demotion

The Penguins losing to the Oilers isn’t exactly a surprise. Edmonton speed bagged the Penguins 4-0 outshooting them 50-27 and didn’t even need a point from Connor McDavid. The Penguins season is already on life support with a game against the Vancouver Canucks looming this evening. They currently have only one standings point in three games on the road trip. It’s getting late early.

One positive from a game without many was the fact Joel Blomqvist was able to have a .920 save percentage despite losing 4-0. He has looked the part in his early career which has caused the Penguins to do the following:



With this kind of transaction, the player does not need to go through waivers so any hope of him getting picked up by another team is non-existent. This was the next logical step after sending Jarry back to Pittsburgh during the road trip. Giving him no game action at all wasn’t going to an option so now he will get some reps.

Jarry can embrace the opportunity and perform well or things can continue to spiral.

There aren’t a lot of good things happening around the Penguins at the moment and we haven’t even gotten to November, yet.
