The Montreal Canadiens ECHL affiliate split weekend games in Wheeling.

The Trois-Riveres Lions went on a road trip to West Virginia for the first time in franchise history to visit the Wheeling Nailers (Pittsburgh Penguins) for a weekend doubleheader at the WesBanco Arena.
Chris Jandric opened the scoring early in the first period with his first of the season. The Nailers tied it with a power play goal before the first intermission, and Anthony Beauregard scoring on the power play to put the Lions ahead. The offensive sparks continued as the home squad scored the next two goals, followed by consecutive goals by Tyler Holland and Jakov Novak for Trois-Rivieres. Pittsburgh’s affiliate forced overtime by scoring midway through the final frame. The visitors capitalized on a power play during the extra frame as Novak tallied his second of the contest and extended the winning streak to four matches.

The Nailers wasted no time getting on the board 30 seconds following the puck drop. Novak continued his hot weekend by tying the match 6:02 later. Wheeling created separation with three goals in a span of 16 minutes. Anthony Beauchamp and Jandric cut the lead to one goal with goals 1:58 apart before the second intermission. The score remained the same throughout the third period, snapping the win streak.
