Ilya Samsonov Hates Linus Ullmark |

Despite both goaltenders moving on from the franchises they were a part of during the 23/24 NHL season, there still remains some animosity by Vegas Golden Knights’ netminder Ilya Samsonov toward Ottawa Senators’ Linus Ullmark.
The feud began last season in the first round series between Toronto and Boston. Ullmark told the Leafs’ playoff media how surprised he was when the Leafs chose to stick with Samsonov over Woll. From Vegas’
Ullmark joined the Leafs Nation podcast in June and said “I was surprised that (Toronto) kept Samsonov for that many games against us in the playoffs, because every time, I felt at least, when we played the Leafs and (Joseph Woll) was in net, it felt like it was more of a challenge.”
Seemingly in response to that, Samsonov commented on an Instagram post ( )
In the contest last night, Samsonov had the last laugh with a 3-2 regulation victory against Ullmark 48 hours after trash talking the Senators’ goalkeeper on Instagram.
Samsonov stood on his head with 38 saves against the home team for a 0.950 save percentage. Sammy only allowed two third period goals; one on the powerplay.
Ullmark allowed one goal each period, 29 saves total. The former Veznia winner had a 0.906 save percentage.
Not a great showing by Ottawa, as the losing skid extends to a fourth consecutive game.
The goodness gracious awfully bad Flyers are the outlier in the slide. Three teams that were in the last two conference finals/cup finals between Carolina, Edmonton, and Vegas. Makes some sense. This stretch has pushed Ottawa to 15th in the Conference, not good enough despite all the change Staios has provided to the core.
Vancouver comes into town without JT Miller or Thatcher Demko. This is the big test to right the ship or write the season as a loss.
