Jacob Trouba's tenure as a Ranger and as their captain has basically come to an end. Where he lands and what the final transaction will be remains to be seen. But Trouba will not play tonight, may potentially be placed on waivers and possibly will be traded. Irrespective of which one of the latter two come to fruition, Trouba's checkered stint in New York has reached its conclusion.

This blog will be updated when we have concrete information as to the next move and his landing spot. But Victor Mancini was promoted and will be in the lineup against Pittsburgh. Rumors are swirling that this could just be the tip of the ice, though that remains to be seen.

Offical trade call with the league hasn't happened yet, so still pending that approval, but it will be defenseman Urho Vaakanainen and a fourth-round pick to the Rangers for Trouba.

Among the teams I’ve heard have talked to the NYR about Jacob Trouba include Detroit, Ottawa, Buffalo, Columbus.

We’ll see what happens today, but Trouba has known for some time this was a strong possibility. Crazy to see it go down this way.
