Updated: Trouba traded to Ducks for Urho Vaakanaian and a fourth round pick

Jacob Trouba's tenure as a Ranger and as their captain has basically come to an end. Where he lands and what the final transaction will be remains to be seen. But Trouba will not play tonight, may potentially be placed on waivers and possibly will be traded. Irrespective of which one of the latter two come to fruition, Trouba's checkered stint in New York has reached its conclusion.

This blog will be updated when we have concrete information as to the next move and his landing spot. But Victor Mancini was promoted and will be in the lineup against Pittsburgh. Rumors are swirling that this could just be the tip of the ice, though that remains to be seen.



Rangers get a depth d-man and $8 million of cap space next year plus the prorated remainder of his contract in cap space this year.

If offered the C in New York, turn it down.


If a buyout ends up the final option, here is the calculation per Puck Pedia. If Trouba is waived and ends up in Hartford, New York only gets about a $1 million cap savings.
