The Ottawa Senators have once again shown their ability to withstand adversity through another successful series of back to back victories, with a Saturday win over the Toronto Maple Leafs and a Sunday win over the Utah Hockey Club.

PG50 v Utah HC — Season Series Sweep

A minor penalty on Josh Norris did not stop Ridly Greig from opening the game scoring short handed for his seventh goal of the season and career high second short handed goal. Shane Pinto and Artem Zub had the assists.
Clayton Keller evened the game at one all for his 18th of the season from former Penguins’ Oli Maatta and John Marino.

Leevi Merilainen saved 34 of 35 Utah shots for a 0.971 save percentage.
While the Senators were in Boston, Claude Giroux and his family had their second car stolen in Ottawa over a five month span. Ryanne Giroux, the wife of Claude, posted the incident on her Twitter account
Tbis is an unfortunate string of events for the Giroux family for this to occur to them. Hoping for the best for the family.
On Elias Pettersson, the forward
Not to confuse with the defenseman, Pettersson, who is also in the Vancouver Canucks. Rumors are swirling around the richest forwards of Vancouver as things in the city have hit a breaking point. Analysts are reporting both may move, and if there’s a rebuild, Hughes will also want out.
Why Ottawa? Appears a package has been rumored to have a starting point with Josh Norris. While this is a piece, it is not near enough for the Canucks to pull the trigger.
If Norris goes, who else goes with when the club has to fortify a first round draft pick over the next three seasons?
On Quebec City
The Senators have announced they will play two preseason games in Quebec, including one against New Jersey and one against Montreal.
Spartacat has also been posted on the Senators’ social media with a half Nordiques half Senators jersey sparking outrage and forcing an apology out of the Ottawa Senators’ team president.
Next Game
Second in 14 days against the Washington Capitals and the last time the Caps will be in town. The Gr8 Chase continues as Alex Ovechkin is 20 away from the record.
