Sidney Crosby is good to go for the Four Nations tournament and will lead Canada as their team captain.

Sidney Crosby told media in Montreal that he’ll play for Canada on Wednesday in 4 Nations Face-Off opener

If taking the Rangers and Flyers game off was necessary to make this happen, so be it. As I’ve mentioned before Sidney Crosby deserves to do what he wants to do at this stage of his career. If being held out of two meaningless NHL games means he gets to play in the first best on best tournament for his country since 2014, so be it.

Canada had practice today in Montreal and Sidney Crosby will be centering Nathan MacKinnon and Mark Stone on what I would consider line 1b.

Team Canada 🇨🇦 lines at #4Nations  practice via Chris Johnston:

Reinhart-McDavid-Marner
Stone-Crosby-MacKinnon
Jarvis-Point-Marchand
Hagel-Cirelli-Bennett

Toews-Makar
Theodore-Doughty
Morrissey-Parayko
Sanheim

Hill/Binnington/Montembeault

If you take a penalty against Canada, be prepared for an anxiety riddled two minutes of game action. The first power play for Canada is predictably, absurd…

Crosby-MacKinnon-Reinhart-McDavid-Makar is Canada’s PP1 🤯

I’m glad Sidney Crosby is going to get to play in this tournament. It has been too long since hockey has showcased any form of a best on best tournament internationally. Four Nations isn’t good enough and hopefully the Olympics in Italy will remedy the limited playing field of best on best. It is still going to be fun to see Crosby, McDavid, and MacKinnon on the same team.

As for the United States, there aren’t any current Penguins on the roster. However, we do have an old friend getting top six minutes. Jake Guentzel will be playing with Auston Matthews and Jack Hughes which will be a pretty cool sight to see.
