Playoff hope lives after Montreal loses in a shootout to Chicago!

The Columbus Blue Jackets took advantage of rest management, as the Jackets outscored the Capitals 11-1 over the weekend.

CBJ PG79 v Washington — Touchdown!

The Columbus Blue Jackets blanked the Washington Capitals by the score of 7-0.

Period I

Zach Werenski made history with most goals scored by a defenseman in one season at 21. Sean Monahan and Dante Fabbro had the helpers.

Kent Johnson, my Columbus player to watch, had his 23rd of the season from James van Riemsdyk.

Adam Fantilli got the third unanswered goal for his 26th from KJ and JvR.

Period II

Fantilli followed up with his second of the evening and 27th with Mateychuk getting the lone Apple.

Sean Monahan recorded his 19th Columbus goal from Kirill Marchenko.

Cole Sillinger had his 10th of the year from Dmitry Voronkov.

Period III

James van Riemsdyk closed the scoring with his 16th from Mathieu Olivier.

Hunter Sheppard allowed 7 goals on 26 shots

Jet Greaves saved all 22 shots for his first career shutout
