Nice pass by Cristobal Huet last night, too bad hand passes don't get blown down when the puck goes to the other team. So Leafs fans, was Huet's pass a conspiracy to give Tampa a goal so that they would win and keep Toronto that much farther out of the playoffs????? Oh yeah, I think it is. Now back to reality. Thirteen goals given up Tampa Bay in their previous two games going into last night and Sean Burke takes it up a notch. That and I'm sure John Tortorella had tied the goalies and their pads to the posts for a 3 hour practice on Sunday. That gets you motivated to make a few saves.
108 minutes in penalties last night between the Canucks and Stars. This after a pleasant game between the two sides on Saturday. I don't think theday off between back to back games is a good idea, it just gives the teams an extra day to get angry for the re-match. Toronto and Montrealhave the split games next week.Probably going to be a few more penalties on Saturday then on Thursday. NHL might want to rethink this approach.
I know who the worst umpire is in all of baseball. The guy behind the plate last night in the Pro's vs the Joe's. A pitch six feet outside the plate or one that hits the dirt, are not strikes, just a little tip for you. No hockey players on the show either, Bill Romanowski is close to being a hockey player, but who knows if he can skate. Not sure why they had Mugsy Bogues shooting clay targets, didn't know what was his speciality.
I was thinking about howthe chant at Islanders games of "DiPi" is the worst cheer in all of sports, but what's second? What annoys you at games?
Ed Belfour is wounded and will not play tonight. Not sure if Mugsy got him when he missed the skeet. Mikael Tellqvist will start, and after the way he played on Saturday, the young Swede deserves more puck time.
If you're a Bruins fan are you happier with Mariusz Czerkawski then you were with Sergei Samsonov?
Bryan Marchment scored his first goal of the season last night. For those of you who have him in the pool,Marchment is now 625th in the NHL in scoring.
Now playing the part of Glen Murray, Jonathan Cheechoo. A hat trick last night for Cheechoo as San Jose beat the Kings 4-3. I hope Cheechoo took Thornton out for dinner after the game. Cheechoo has scored 33 goals since he has played with Thornton, Big Joe has assisted on 26 of them. Nils Ekman is the third player on the line, he's in charge of high fives and stick taping.

On March 14th in 1986 it was a Friday night in Edmonton as Paul Coffey ties the NHL record for points in a game by a defenceman with eight (2G-6A). It looked like Coffey was going to come up one point short, but with 15 seconds left, he assisted on a goal by Jari Kurri. The Oilers won the game 12-3 over the Wings. Mmmmmm, scoring a goal with 15 seconds left??? were the Oilers running up the score? Detroit started off well they were up 1-034 seconds into the game on a goal by Petr Klima. Then it was all done hill for the final 59 minutes and 26 seconds. Greg Stefan and Ed Mio were in net for Detroit.Gretzky had five assists in the game.
