Be sure to check out Katie Villeneuve's post-game blog on the left hand side for further discussion tonight and throughout the day on Tuesday. I am sure there will be plenty to discuss about tonights game as the Sens lead up to the 2nd game of the roadtrip. I will be back tomorrow night with more post-game reaction and a look ahead to the Sens at the Sharks on Wednesday night. We will have another in-game blog for that game too.

Giguere comes up HUGE for the Ducks. Two saves off Spezza, one of the plays was unreal by Spezza, he undressed both Ducks defensemen and then Redden had a nice shot from the point. Giguere is keeping Anaheim in this game to start the 3rd period.
Regardless, great start to the period by Ottawa who are forechecking and hitting.
Big hits by Phillips and Volchenkov on Bertuzzi and Getzlaf the last shift, very nice to see.
Spezza has really elevated his game this period, another great scoring chance and Heatley almost finished the deal. Giguere is standing on his head.
Stillman is playing with Spezza and Heatley. Alfie out of the game.
6 quality scoring chances by Ottawa in the first half of the third period.
Incredible save by Gerber. He moves so well post to post.
Another great scoring chance by Ottawa. The sens need to finish now!
What a joke, Kunitz gets away with a slashing and cross checking calls on the same play and then Fisher gets a highsticking penalty. To make matters worse Murray gets a bench minor for giving the officials hell........can you blame him? This officiating is a crying shame. Good on him for letting the officials have it. Ducks get a 5 on 3 for 2 minues. Just pathetic.
Gerber had no chance on the 5 on 3 PP goal.
Anyone else see the crosscheck that Beachemain laid out on Alfie late in the 2nd period and not a thing called. Well job done.....Alfie is out of the game. The league has to look at this game. No wonder the NHL is sooo bush league.
What was Schubert thinking on the PP? Horrible decision....shot the darn puck.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nice to see Volchenkov and Meszaros back on the bench to start the second period.
Great shift by the 4th line to start the 2nd period. A few quality scoring chances.
Murray needs to replace Richardson with Schubert on the blueline. I am tired of seeing Luke get beat way too easily.
Another huge scoring chance by Alfie.
Two nice saves by Gerber as he continues to be solid in goal.
Sens need to score on their first PP of the game. Can you believe the Ducks stayed out of the box for half the game? Refs are letting way too much go. Then the Ducks draw blood on the penalty and its not a 4 minute minor. Unreal!
The 4th line is getting alot of minutes. Murray is doing a nice job managing the icetime so far.
Meszaros clears the puck while its lying in the crease. Great PK by the Ducks so far.
Murray should give Redden a permanent seat on the bench. His play is just flat out awful. His lazy play in all facets of the game is totally unacceptable.
Great work again by the Sens 4th line. Donovan draws both penalties in the period from his hard work....he never stops skating.
Another very good PK by the Ducks. Come on Ottawa.
Ducks have been playing the trap all period. Sens doing a good job of breaking it though with their strong skating through the neutral zone. Nice to see each player keeping their feet moving.
Ducks will have 1:28 of PP time to start the 3rd period.
Sens outshot the Ducks 13-10 in the 2nd period. Each player has at least 7 minutes of icetime after 2 periods.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Terrible turnover by Spezza to start the game.
Robitaille needs to mix it up just a bit. This guy goes out of his way to avoid physical contact.
Huge save by Gerber to start the game off Kunitz.
Plenty of turnovers early on by Ottawa. Not much flow to their game.
Wade Redden is playing like his usual self....turning over the puck in the worst places. What was he thinking?
Another big save by Gerber. He is definitely keeping his team in the game. Nice to see.
Sens are still very unsure of themselves at the midway mark of the 1st period.
First Sens shot come at the midway point of the opening frame. Come on guys!
Richardson looked very slow on that goal by Anaheim. Commodore got caught coming over to help him. Bryan Murray....you need to put Schubert back on the blueline fulltime.
Ducks are outhitting the Sens big time. Where did the Sens energy from Saturday disappear to?
Kunitz ABSOLUTELY got away with a hit from behind, just disgusting...that type of hit is SO dangerous.
Gerber never had a chance on the Ducks second goal. It got deflected off Commodore.
Where is the life in this Sens squad?
And there you have it! Schubert goes back on the blueline for Meszaros as he had to leave the game with a knee injury and scores.
Ducks goal disallowed due to a high stick.
Sens outshot 8-3 in the first period and outhit 7 to 4.
Sens without Meszaros and Volchenkov after the first period. Thankfully Schubert is dressed. Every player saw at least 4 minutes of icetime in the first period, very evenly distributed by Murray.

Predictions anyone? This should be one heck of a game tonight.
Lets see if Ottawa can build off their win over Pittsburgh and carry that momentum against the Ducks.
Back in 15 minutes for the drop of the puck. I hope many of you can join us for the in-game blog.
