Note: I apologize for being unable to post regularly over the last few days, but, my computer has conveniently caught a virus(much like the rest of the people up here in Montreal...). It has been acting quite tempermental lately, but hopefully this post will make it to you all!
The Ovech"Kam"
CSN is taking a unique approach with their viewers. Starting with the Caps game against the Calgary Flames, CSN will be debuting a solo camera which will be strictly devoted to Alex Ovechkin. This is CSN's unique way of offering something different to Caps fans, and hockey fans alike.
I can't wait to see how it goes.
Here is the release concerning the “OvechKam” as per the Caps.

A Freight Train
I was left speechless...simply speechless, following the incredible offensive outburst of the Capitals against the Bruins on Monday.
This is a Capitals team that we have not seen in ages.
They were powerful, dominating and, above all else, ferocious on the puck.
All that can really be said is that this team likes playing in front of Huet and that the additions made to this team, have been the right ones.
Here is a list of the point getters for the Caps following their blowout of the Bruins.
Goals/Assists/Points/ + / -
Forwards
Alex Ovechkin 3/2/5/+3
Matt Bradley 2/1/3/+2
Eric Fehr 0/3/3/+1
Nicklas Backstrom 1/3/4/+3
Brooks Laich 2/0/2/-1
Matt Cooke 1/2/3/+2
Viktor Kozlov 0/1/1/+3
Alex Semin 0/1/1/-1
David Steckell 0/1/1/+2
Donald Brashear 1/0/1/+1
Defense
Tom Poti 0/2/2/+3
John Erskine 0/1/1/+2
Shaone Morrisonn 0/1/1/even
Mike Green 0/1/1/even
Jeff Schultz 0/1/1/+2
Only 3 players went without points; Fedorov, Jurcina and Gordon.
The team combined for 10 goals and 20 assists on the night and were a combined +25.
Getting the +8 boost as a team was great as the Caps are now only a -5 on the season, as a team.
Caps Must Beat Sabres
I know this is late, but here is the lineup for tonights game.
Ovechkin-Backstrom-Kozlov
Laich-Fedorov-Semin
Cooke-Steckel-Bradley
Brashear-Gordon-Fehr
Morrisonn-Green
Poti-Schultz
Erskine-Jurcina
Kolzig will be in nets.
I am expecting the Caps' emotions to carry over from their last game. The blowout over the Bruins and the 4-0 shutout of the Devils are strong statements to this Eastern Conference.
There is not a lot of time left for the Caps to make their jump into the playoffs, but if the team can ride this new energy to a string of victories, they will be well on their way to catching the Hurricanes and tonights opponent, the Buffalo Sabres.
The Caps sit 3 points behind both the Hurricanes and the Sabres. A win tonight, coupled with a hopeful loss by the Canes, would put the team within one point of their division lead and would also bring the Caps to within 2 points of the final playoff spot.
They are close, but they must not stop competing.
There is no room for comfort here.
As Boudreau stated upon his arrival, “...winning streaks get you into the playoffs.”
With the runway running out from beneath their feet, the Caps will only have 15 more games to sneak their way into the playoffs. Let's hope their play will continue to take off and that the new veteran leadership can continue to get great efforts from their junior teammates.
The Sabres are fresh off of a 5-2 beating of the Philadelphia and will have their legs early.
The Caps will need to find the same spark that saw them post their best first period of the season on Monday against the Bruins.
Washington will have to take advantage of the Sabres energy. The should be fresh in the 1st, but seeing as they played only last night, I expect the Caps will be able to take advantage of that factor in the 2nd are 3rd periods.
Let the winning streak begin!
