7:00pm: Carey Price is the only Montreal goalie on the ice for warmups. Where's Halak? There he is... stretching the quads in front of the penalty box.

Elliotte Freedman from CBC's Hockey Night In Canada is one of my favourite people in hockey, and he is here on press row tonight. "Freege" has a rare night off, however, he made the drive from Toronto for tonight's game. "Just watching. I love coming to games here (in Buffalo)". Elliotte will work the Montreal game on HNIC Saturday night.

Elliotte had a great pice on HNIC's pregame show last week wher he interview former Brampton Battalion Dman, Brent Burns. Freege spent the afternoon in Burns' snakepit. Yikes!

Hey, Tolensky, Elliotte wants to more Hockeybuzz stories out of you. Can't let your fans down ! Get to work!

Remeber the February 29th as kicking the Habs laid on Buffalo? 6-2? UGH!

The Has scored three gorgeous PPGS on that night.

Lets hope that Lindy has reminded his guys to watch Plekanec, Streit, and Kovalev on the cross-ice, cross-crease passing plays!

****
7:15pm: Gosoe and Mike Weber are the last Sabres to leave the ice.

Carey Price vs. Ryan Miller.

****

Why do you Buffalo fans sell your tickets to Habs fans? There is sea of red in the lower bowl, in the 200s, and in the endzone 300s.

I know.. you buy the season package and sell the Montreal and Toronto duckets at near usurious prices in order to pay off your debt. I get it.
I don't wantto hear bitching and moaning when the Habs score and the Province of Quebec...errr.... the Habs fans in attendance cheer for their team.

Paul Maurice talked this phenomenon of Buffalo being a home-like game for his Buds last week when the Leafs slapped the Sabres in here, and Leaf Nation loudly and proudly expressed their pleasure.

Why do you do this to yourselves?

1ST PERIOD:

7:38pm: First puck

Goose starts at centre with Kotalik on LW and Bernier on RW. Goose has been skatingthe wall for Pommer and Hecht in recent games....

* Paille-Hecht-Pommer get a great scoring chance down low on The Montreal D.

* 61-9-26 are back together.

* 21-22-36 are the energy line tonight. I like the wall battle that Kaleta won over Smolinski in the Montreal end. It allowed Weber to grab a loose puck and his point wrister was deflected into Price's lap. Great play!

***
15:51- Buffalo skating well in the first 5 minutes of the period.

Credit to Toni Lydman for stick checking the puck away from Kovi with Miller down and out of the net!

***
@ 8:57, Vanek baits Sergei Kostitsyn into a slsahing minor.

Buffalo PP:

Two sloppy entry-attempts by Buffalo sends them 85 feet down the ice to retrieve the MTL clear!

No continuity. No sustained zone time. No goal.

Successful MTL PK.

***

@ 11:51, Markov gets the gate for roughing.

Same old story, all over again....

Predictable Buffalo entries that MTL are jumping on and defending with ease.

When is Spacek coming back????

Succesful MTL PK

***

12-28-56 are running around in the Montreal end,and they are hitting everything in white on this shift. Good action.

***
Buffalo are 0-2 on the PP and they cannot coax the ultra-disciplined Montreal PKers out of position. If thats the case, why not send two guys to Price's blue, and fire away?

***
2ND PERIOD:

@ 1:40 of the period, Ryan Miller makes a big save on a Plekanec's shot.

***

1-0 Buffalo: @ 2:25 Drew Stafford, driving the centre lane, gets credit for goal that went in off Chris Higgins' skate. Staff's 16th from Roy and Sekera.

@ 3:35, Michael Ryder gets rung up for interference.

BUFFALO PP:

Better entries and retrievals! Buffalo spent 70 seconds in the MTL zone peppering Price with pucks.

Roy, Vanek, Ponmmer, and Hecht were exceptional in their puck movement.

**

How about Carey Price's outstanding right pad save on Bernier? WOW!

Price's right pad looked like a pinball machine paddle.

I had a birseye view of the play as I'm seated right on the goaline. SICK SAVE!

****

1-1: @ 19:23 of the period, Kovalev roofs a pass. Miller was playing the shooter to the right and could not get left in time to make the save. Tallinder and Lydman were caught flatfooted on the goal.

****

This game reminds me so much of the Toronto game last Friday night. The Sabres were given countless PP opps in that game and they could not convert. After 40, the Sabres are 0-5.

***

Next goal wins?

***

3RD PERIOD:

Nice to see Mr. MSG tonight. Its been a while, my friend. Good to see you.

***

2-1 Buffalo. @ 5:30, Nathan Paetsch heeds his coach's wishes and he jumps in and joins the rush. 38 banged in Vanek's rebound for his 2nd of the season.

Kovalev's defense is highly offensive!

***

3-1 Buffalo: Pommer feeds his linemate Paille, all alone in the right circle. Danny blasts home his 19th of the season.

***

***

I just arrived here at HSBC Arena.

Good to see Pierre LeBrun on press row.

****

The Sabres found a way to tie the game in Kanata last night. Great energy on the shift by Stafford, who found Goose for the tying gola with 86 breaths left in Buffalo's lungs.

Whats on your mind?

***

With the start in Ottawa, Ryan Miller has now started 30 consecutive games for Buffalo. From 1/24-3/27. Millsie will play in his career high 73rd game of the season tonight.

***

Derek Roy and Jason Pominville have been life savers for Buffalo this season.

Roy
has picked up at least one point in 25 of his last 33 games! Roy has 43 points in these 25 games (17/26), Roy leads the Sabres with 22 multi-point games this season. He has 4 goals and 9 assists in his last 7 games.

Pommer is tied for third in the NHL in March scoring with 18 points (8/10). 29 is now on a 6 game point scoring streak , scoring 12 points in 6 games.
