Can anyone stop a puck in the
Ottawa/Buffalo series? After a wild game Friday, the puck drops
tonight on game 2. While neither goalie got much help from their
defense, these are two rookie goaltenders showing their nerves... the
one who settles down first may be the turning point for this series.

Carolina opened a serious can o' whupazz
on the Devils Saturday. I can't remember seeing Martin Brodeur that
frustrated in net. The 'Canes kept running the crease, just like they
did to the Lightning. Expect to hear more complaints from the NJ camp
on this to try and get a better crackdown on this.

The Western series' are both about two
incredibly hot teams on a serious roll. The Ducks just keep locking it
down defensively, limiting shots and making goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov
look like the second coming of Patrick Roy. He's currently on a 229:42
scoreless streak. This series is almost over unless the Avalanche can
figure out a way to get a decent scoring chance.

The Sharks continue to ride the hot
stick of captain Patrick Marleau, who's hiding the disappearance of
Joe Thorton, and a lot of physical play as they dominated the Oilers in
game one. Can't lay this one at the feet of Dwayne Roloson, he made
several key saves and kept this game a lot closer that it could've been.

The way things look right now, it's going to be an all California Western final...

On the Pred Front... Marek Zidlicky signed a four year contract today for approx 13.5 million...
