I’m not going to go there completely… but... suffice to say that last night’s Preds/Canucks game was one that the league needs to look at for multiple reasons… including how not to control a game. I have no problem with good, hard, clean, physical play… that just was not in evidence last night with cheap shot after cheap shot being delivered high and hard. I counted at least two hits that were delivered while in the air, last I checked, leaving your feet to deliver a check is illegal.

Props to Jason Arnott for sticking up for his teammates, sometimes, you just gotta send a message. I'm still trying to figure out how you fight with yourself...

‘Nuff said… on to Columbus.

UPDATE - Per the Nashville Tennessean, the NHL will not be bringing disciplinary action from the stupid hits delivered and condoned by the Vancouver Canucks last night... I wish I was surprised.

Since I'm doing a pretty good job of aggravating people today... let's keep it up... good piece from Ken Campbell, it's a few days old, but the point made is solid...

I seem to recall making some of the same points as folks were complaining about revenue sharing during the Preds sale process...

Tomorrow night at the Flying Saucer, it’s the Second Annual “Out of This World” Viewing Party. Hockey Happy Hour Specials start at 4pm… game time is 6pm. I’ll be hosting the festivities, Gnash and the Predator Dancers will be making an appearance, and lots of Pred fans will be on hand to cheer on the Preds as they play the Blue Jackets.

Plenty of auctions, raffles, and STP merchandise to be disposed of at bargain basement prices. Great auction stuff including signed memorabilia, tickets to future games, concert tickets and gift baskets. Event supporters include 97.1 WRQQ, 102.9 the Buzz, CAO Cigars, Blackstone Brewery and HockeyBuzz Radio.

This event is sponsored by the group formerly known as “Save the Predators,” one of the many groups that sprung up during the summer from hell two years ago. The event will be raising money for CAPE (Challenged Athletes Playing Equally).

The Flying Saucer is located at 1010 Demonbreun, right near Union Station and the Frist Center. I’m looking forward to seeing a lot of you there on Thursday night.

Don’t forget that this weekend’s game against the stars is another “Toys for Tots” night… bring a new unwrapped toy, they will be collected at the entrances to benefit needy kids at Christmas.

What way to celebrate the holidays!

The show will be broadcast from the “Skate with the Preds” event at A-Game Sportsplex in Cool Springs. Admission is just $5 and skate rental is free. Proceeds benefit the Predators Foundation.
