Claude Giroux and Kimmo Timonen snuck in behind the Buffalo D and barley missed a scoring chance. Flyers feet are moving and tehy are generating chances.

1-0 Flyers:
Glen Metropolit beats Miller on a nifty pass from Richards. Butler left the low post to play Richards on the halfwall. The gap that Butler left in his wake gave mtro the room he needed.
Buffalo need to get their feet moving and get pucks deep. Test Marty early and often.

The Philly D and forwards are collapsing in front of Marty, causing Sabres to shoot into shinguards.

Sabres allow Flyers to control the puch in the first 15 minutes. Phillly's feet were faster and tyhey were rewarded for their efforts.
Staff-Roy-Goose genearted chances in the last five minutes.
Sabres will start the second epriod on the PP.

Buck twenty or less of powerplay time.. entries and recoveries have been crisp and well executed in recent games. Gotta make them pay here....

Marty lets a softy slip through his wickets. Nice job by Roy to rag the puck up the wall--- he finds a 100mph Soach flying down the gut o fthe ice.... he shoots... he scores....

Midway through the period, the Flyers down shifted and released the hounds in the Buffalo end. sabres cannot clear the puck for a furious minute and the puck ends up behind Miller.
Braydon Coburn pumps it home. Miller had no help at all on the play because his forwards and D were running around in their end.

Spacho dots Marty's "i" on the Buffalo PP. Biron had Goose and two of his Dmen clogging his blue ice.

3-2:
Mike Richards scores shorthanded. The play started as a 3 on 1 and it ended with Richards beating Miller clean on the deflection off the rush. Sabres point men were too slow to react.

Derek Roy lowers his head and slams his face into the pile of humanity in Biron's blue. Stafford had first shot, Marty made the save, Roy ties the score by getting his stick on the loose change.

Buffalo refuses to go down two goals in this. Philly has taken three one goal leads and the sabres have tied it up each time.
Should be a barn burner of a third period!

@ 13:51 with Lydman in the box, Knuble scores his 20th on the PP. Hecht and Teppo allow Knuble to creep in from the point. He was unmolested below the hashmarks.

Buffalo were victimIzed in their own end on four of the five goals. The forwards and D were soft in front of Miller at times, and this created big gaps and white ice for the Philly forwards to operate and create in.
Miller was strong when he had to be. Don't lay the blame on the goalie. the shortie was a fundamental by the forwards and pointmen. Two empty netters were not Miller's fault.

A win in regulation will give the Sabres the boost that they need with the Rangers in Buffalo Saturday night. The Panthers get the red hot Blackhawks tonight. Lets go, Kaner and Towes.
