I'm glad Joey found a new place to play. I understand why it wasn't on Long Island.
Joey MacDonald is a very likeable guy. He can win a game when he really needs to. He was nothing but admirable sharing the net with Yann Danis last season.
But I will tell you something that you will not hear from anyone else....
Joey MacDonald has the strangest feet I have ever seen.
There, I know I just violated a trust, but I can't help it. The first time I saw him in the locker room to be interviewed he was sitting in his stall, shoeless. I couldn't take my eyes off his feet. It didn't even matter what Stan Fischler was asking him about the game. I can't even tell you if he won it. All I could think of was...
"How does he get skates on?" There is literally 3/4" between his big toe and the rest of them. I stared long enough to make sure there was no webbing between his toes.
I figured that's how he could stay on his skates so well, he was just better balanced.
:o)
Always pleasant. Always easy to talk to. Always a bit of a smile in his voice. Good Luck Joey. We'll see you back at the barn in December.
:0)
(ha! What did you THINK I was going to tell you????)
