A Most Important Two Points |

It is too late for me to go through an entire entry. Suffice it to say that while that Thursday night in Montreal was the WORST game the NY Islanders have played so far this season, tonight's game was certainly the BEST game.
The Islanders finally managed a full 60 minutes of play which started with a goal in the FIRST minute of play by puck magnet, Matt Moulson and ended with a goal for young John Tavares. In between that goal oreo was Kyle Okposo's 2nd goal of the season.
With a final score of 3 - 1 Islanders, it was the most gratifying two points they could have earned. Earlier in the day I had emailed Scott Allen to wish him luck on his first of the Islander/Ranger rivalry games. I explained the significance of keeping the Rangers from winning at the Coliseum. Cablevision, who owns Newsday, News12, MSG, and the Rangers OWNS most of Long Island's entertainment and news outlets. It's painful when the Rangers come to town and "own" the Coliseum as well. But not tonight.
The two points put the swagger back in GM Garth Snow's gait as he walked passed the media in the hallway and it caused GM Glen Sather to utter "s**t" three feet away from me in the press box. It was priceless.
Certainly the best time I have ever had at an Islanders/Rangers game. But more about that tomorrow. For now, it's pumpkin time.
