The Bruins travel to Buffalo feeling good about themselves. They knocked around the Sabres in Boston earlier in the month. On Thursday night, the B's shot down Atlanta.
Max Afinogenov's game tying goal with 41 ticks on the regulation clock gave the Thrashers forced OT with the Bruins Thursday night. The five minute OT ended in a draw. Patrice Bergeron won it in the Shootout.
Give credit to the B's. They've been gritty and resilient.Their offense has depleted by injuries to Savard and Lucic. Lucic returned to the lineup vs. ATL and was a non factor-- two shots and one hit in 14 minutes. Savard is skating in anticipation of getting green lighted to return to the lineup. Will it be in Buffalo? They had lost Krejci to H1N1. Kobasew was traded to Minny. Kessel was exported to The Big Smoke.
Buffalo better play their cards right or this one may end in the same painful fashion that the Panthers game had ended.
Claude Julien will Trap the Sabres and will hang back waiting for Roy, Vanek, Connolly, Pommer and the O to turn pucks over as they had at home vs. Florida on Wednesday night.
Buffalo will have to be better on the powerplay against the B's. The Bruins were called for 5 third period penalties vs. Atlanta on Thursday night. They killed them off successfully. Buffalo will be smart to keep their feet moving to draw penalties. When they get the advantage, they have to bury the biscuit.
