Just a couple of quick notes... Brent Johnson got the call tonight so that he didn't have quite as long a lay off as he would have had MAF played out the schedule...

Marian Gaborik is in the Rags line-up and started the game...great news for Slovakia...

I am live at Mellon Arena.... will be providing updates intermittently.

Also chatting with many of you on Twitter throughout...

Sidney Crosby just scored his 40th goal of the season on a wicked slapper from the high slot... He took a pass from Evgeni Malkin, settled the puck and lashed it home. Crosby becomes the 18th Penguins player to reach forty goals in a season...

Both Marian Gaborik and Michael Del Zotto are out for the night... Del Zotto fell awkwardly on Evgeni Malkin's skate and Gaborik missed his final shift of the first period before not returning in the second...

The game has taken on a decidedly agitated tone, especially since Matt Cooke and Chris Drury had a bit of a throw down...

Cooke took exception to a hit that Drury laid on him as he was heading up ice. He went to confront Drury who was down on the ice... Drury got to his feet with guns blazing, but fell, at which point Cooke rained down a flurry of blows to the back of his head. As they were being separated, they seemed to be making a date for later in the night...

We will see where it goes...

Tempers seem to be on edge again after Brooks Orpik laid a big hit on Artem Anisimov along the right wing boards. The youngster found himself in a heap... will be interesting to see if that flares up moving forward.

The Rangers are leading 2-1...
