The Dallas Stars have announced this afternoon that they will not be offering Mike Modano a contract for next season. I've reflected in this idea before so I won't waste your time with more on it today. It's just unfortunate, and I really hope he doesn't join another organization.

Also, Krys Barch is now about to make 825,000 a year. Why? He's a goon that plays below replacement level hockey. Francis Wathier could have filled that role for less money. When you have little money, I think Barch is a "luxury" you can do without.
