Buffalo Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier announced today the Sabres have signed goaltender Adam Dennis to a three-year entry level contract.

Dennis has been assigned to the Rochester Amerks, effective immediately.

Dennis (6 feet/ 183 lbs.) was Buffalo's sixth-round choice (182nd overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

The 21-year-old Dennis played four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with Guelph and, and The Hunters in London.

Dennis posted a career-record of 100-45-9.

Last season with The London Knights, Dennis was selected as the OHL Goaltender of the Year when he set a league-record with 44 wins, while finishing with a 2.82 goals against average and .915 save percentage.

As a member of London's 2005 Memorial Cup championship team, Dennis won the Hap Emms Memorial Trophy as the Top Goaltender and was named to the tournament All-Star Team. He also became first goalie ever to record a shutout in the Memorial Cup Final when he made 27 saves in a 4-0 win over Sidney Crosby and the Rimouski Oceanic.

Dennis follows in the footsteps of other Sabres goaltending luminaries Miller, Biron, and, Noronen, who at a very young age impressed the coaches in his first Sabres training camp. Dennis was able to acclimate himself to the pro game, while playing in Buffalo in September. He'll get ample crease time in Rochester.

Look for Sabres goalie guru, Jim Corsi, to get to work on Dennis' pro game.

The Sabres now have Ryan Miller's heir apparent in the organization.

RED LIGHT. GREEN LIGHT:

Lindy Ruff and his coaches have used this pause in action to bone up on the PP. The Sabres have gone back to basics and it would appear as though things are starting to click.

Puck movement and point shot have not been the problem thus far for the Sabres PP. They've been plagued by untimely penalties of their own that nullify their PP opps. Another problem has been putting hogh percentage shots on goal that the likes of Ward, Huet and Gerber have been able to make saves on.

Look for the Sabres to send traffic to Hasek's crease in Detroit on Friday night.
