The big question on Pred Nation's mind has do to with Barry Trotz's tantalizing quote yesterday that (paraphrasing here) if Josef Vasicek is doubtful for tonight's game at the Meadowlands, he would likely recall Preds top prospect Alexander Radulov to the big club for the game.

That decision is coming this morning.

Radulov has lit up the AHL in three games recording seven points (3g, 4a), being named in the three stars two out of those three games, and being named the first AHL player of the week for the new season. Exactly the kind of start Pred Nation has been hoping for.

The development of Radulov is a bone of contention among Pred fans. Some want him on the team now, believing he is ready to dominate at the NHL level. The other side believes it is good for him to get his feet wet at the AHL level, learn to play with men. I consider myself part of the latter group, some time in the AHL would do him good in my humble opinion... however, the feedback I'm getting from Admiral fans tell me that time may be short. Very short...

UPDATE...

After last night's performance by Scott Nichol, the team decided to not bring up A-Rad yet...

This is an interesting benefit to having a player of Radulov's potential in the wings... it seems to make the other players step up their game...

A quick note on last night's 3-0 victory at MSG... Tomas Vokoun's first shutout of the season was a masterpiece. While the defensive play stepped up, he was incredible, especially on the multiple 5-on-3 situations he had to face. Vokoun's 38 save performance was named top star in the NHL on nhl.com for last night's action.

The metro New York swing finishes tonight with a tilt against the Devils at the Meadowlands before the Preds return home for a Saturday night date with Vancouver. Puck drops at 6:30 CDT. The game is on FSN South and 104.5 the Zone.
