If life begins at 40, then the Sabres are poised for future success and prosperity as the Golisano Era draws to an end today, and the Terry Pegula Era will immediately begin.

People that I speak with tell me that Lindy Ruff ain't goin' anywhere. He represents all that's been good with the Sabres in his past 16 seasons coaching the team. A source tells me that Mr. Pegula admires the work that Ruff has done during his tenure in Buffalo, and will be interested in getting Ruff's name on a long term contract extension.

Darcy Regier is locked up for this and next season. He has 25 days to augment the Buffalo roster in order to jump the team into the top eight group that makes the Eastern playoffs.

The scene here at HSBC Arena is very busy right now. There are two dozen TV satellite/remote trucks parked with engines idling, on Seymour H. Knox Plaza. The security guards manning the lobby are ready for the crush oof media to converge on the building.

The presser begins at Noon EDT. Hit refresh and check back here for updates throughout the day. I'll give you my takes and a behind the scenes glimpse of all the goings on inside the building on nhis historic day.
