This trend will change tonight in Sunrise Florida. Fresh off their 7-4 win over Tampa on Tuesday night, Buffalo skate into the Panther Den for a monster of a four point game tonight.
Buffalo are 11-4-1 in their past 16. Florida are 2-4-4 in their past 10.
The tenth place Sabres hold a game in hand over Florida and lead the Panthers by three points in the Eastern standings (55 to 52).
Buffalo better jump on Florida right off the hop tonight. The Panthers are a pesky group who have the ability to play well in tight games. They are a no frills group who will trap until opponents make mistakes.
We'll know after the morning skate what Lindy Ruff plans to do with Pat Kaleta tonight. If the agitator plays, then a forward has to sit out. Can't sit Paul Byron or Nathan Gerbe. I nominating veteran turnover machines, Jochen Hecht or Rob Niedermayer.
If Kaleta sits, Lindy will run with the same lineup that won the game in Tampa Tuesday night.
