Need proof that Lindy Ruff does not give a red rat's ass about my opinion?

Chris Butler will sit out tonight's game vs. his hometown STL Blues. Sucks for Butler as he has been playing well lately. Reggie Sekera will skate in his stead.

Steve Montador will return.

Speaking of Sekera, I've heard his name has mentioned in trade rumours with of all teams the Boston Bruins. You'll recall that Sekera had played alongside fellow Slovak Dman, Z Chara, in the Vancouver Olympics. Most observers marvelled at how well Reggie out performed Chara at the 'Couver games.

The name coming back to Buffalo is Blake Wheeler. The 6'5" 205 lb. forward has been rumoured to be Tronna-bound, IF a Kaberle deal can be struck with the Bs. Buffalo are looking to add size and skill and Wheeler fits that bill. Wheeler has 11 goals and 16 assists and is +8, in 56 games this season.

Important to note that Wheeler and Thomas Vanek are very, very, very close friends. They played together at the University of Minnesota. Wheeler has such high regard for Vanek that he wears #26 as an homage to HDTV. Vanek admires Wheeler so much so that he and his wife named their first of three sons, Blake.

Keep an eye on this rumour. Don't think Boston will deal in the division? They just traded with Ottwaa for chris Kelly. They also did a deal with Buffalo last season for Dan Paille.

Stranger things have happened.

**********

The dismantling of the Ottawa Senators continues in rapid fire fashion. Last week, Mike Fisher was traded to Smashville for a 1st rounder and a conditional third rounder. On Tuesday, Chris Kelly was traded to Boston for a second rounder. Last night, Jerko Ruutu was traded to Anaheim for a sixth rounder. Today, Elliott is dealt for Anderson, straight up.

Sens GM Bryan Murray has sent Sabre Killer goalie, Brian Elliott, to the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for goalie Craig Anderson. This move is addition by subtraction for Buffalo, as Elliott has been a pain in their ass ever since he entered the NHL.

Robin Lehner, the Team Sweden beast, is now in contention with Anderson for the starting goalie job in Kanata. Personally, I loved what I saw of Lehner at the WJCs in Buffalo. The dude is big, fast, and has a tremendous glove hand. He loves to fight as well.

Curious move for both teams. Craig Anderson has been on leave from the Avs for the past week due to personal reasons.

Goodbye, Jerko. You'll be missed!
