Ryan Miller deserved a better fate on Sunday. Miller was 98% perfect. A freak puck-off-the strut-in-the end-glass, and a deflection doomed the Sabres to their fourth straight home loss.
Miller was agranite pillar for his team, making save after glorious save. 37 in total. Miller's Vezina vintage was front and centre while killing penalties, especially on the Washington 5 on 3 in period one. He held the wolves at bay. Miller should be arrested for perpetrating two counts of grand larceny on Nik Backstrom.
However, the suddenly sluggish offense went silent--- again.
You can see the frustration in HDTV's body language. He's a proud guy, who wants to win in the worst way. He and drew stafford cannot handle allof the goal scoring duties by themselves.
Back to work Monday.

Buffalo's homestand will continue Wednedsay night, when struggling, yet hopeful, Atlanta comes to town. The Thrashers and Sabres are tied with 60 points apiece, and neither team willplay until they meet head to head.
The Sabres and Thrash are in the same boat right now. Losing instead of winning in the dog days of the season.
Mr. Pegula and Mr. Black will be in the house for the Thrashers game. The players better get off the schneid now!

Jason Pominville's PPG gave Buffalo new hope, however, it was the only offense Buffalo would generate against the stingy Caps.
I had occassion to say hello to Derek Roy in the hallway outside the Buffalo room after the Caps game. #9 was walking without a cane or mobility aid. He appeared to be in good humour.
Roy suffered a season ending quad tear earlier this year.
