1) Michael Cammalleri has 38 points in 54 games this season.

His 16 goals have come in 15 games. His only multi-goal game of the season was the very first one he played, against the Penguins.

He's had nine multi-point games this season.

If he wants to get back to scoring with regularity, he needs to do what he did against the Penguins Saturday.

Of the 16 goals he's scored, I'm not sure how many have been from within five feet of the net. Sufficed to say not enough of them have been hard-work goals, and he'd have a lot more to show for his efforts if his efforts were concentrated in that area of the ice.

2) Before the Western road-trip, it became quite obvious that Carey Price was going to have to start outright stealing games for the Canadiens.

They were reeling in February, and though Price was consistently on par with the rest of the season he had put together to date, it wasn't getting the Canadiens points in games they didn't deserve points from.

Since dropping the games against Edmonton and Calgary, Price put in an outrageous performance against the Vancouver Canucks, and has been scorching ever since.

Is it fair to say he's playing the best hockey of his career, right now?

3) The Habs may not have Brent Sopel, but they blocked 15 shots against the Penguins and with Price, forced another 22 wide or over the net by getting in the shooting lanes.

Obviously, they were perfect against the Penguins on the penalty kill, but their continued success in that capacity will be hard to come by without Sopel.

Once again, they'll need to make up for his loss by committee.

4) Speaking of doing it by committee, this Habs blue line finds a way to pull it off no matter who's playing.

Credit Jacques Martin and the coaching staff for seemingly finding the right mix with each passing game.

Beforehand, we thought Martin was a guy unwilling to tinker with a winning roster. But he's begun customizing his roster to better enable the Canadiens to deal with different opponents.

He picks which games to roll four lines in, and sometimes alters things with the knowledge he'll have to rely more on three lines.

He's done an unreal job this season considering all the devastating injuries to the team.

5) Once again Ryan White and Paul Mara are the on-ice contingent of Montreal's police force. These were two crucial additions to the team that Pierre Gauthier didn't get much credit for.

Who can argue these guys aren't worthy of regular lineup spots? More importantly, they perform when called upon, no matter how seldom that is.
