When Phil Kessel was dealt in the highly controversial trade that saw Tyler Seguin pull over the black and gold Bruins jersey, many forgot the second round pick involved. Taken at 32nd Overall, Jared Knight has gone about his business in the Ontario Hockey League, the forgotten piece of the trade.

The London Knights forward is a tad undersized, but is a relentless worker, whether at practice, or come game time. Considered slightly above average in his straight away speed, Knight has solid footwork, and continually moves his feet all game long, able to cross over on defensemen while with the puck. A physically strong player, Knight has an excellent shot, but can also drive to the net and use his soft hands down low.

While his defensive game would never be considered his greatest tool, Knight's hard work have led him to be considered a good two-way player for London this season, taking a leadership role on the stripped down major junior club.

A committed player to the game of hockey, Knight played the early months of the season with a broken foot, having had a car run over it. Not wanting to disappoint teammates at the Bruins Development Camp, or his OHL Club, Knight played on the injury without complaining. He even rushed home to London from Bruins Development Camp, a late cut, just to play in their game that day.

Having been identified as a diabetic, Knight has his condition stabilized and has found his game turn around since he was able to do that.

Hard work and perseverance will endear him to Bruins fans over the next few years, as he works his way into a top six role with the B's. While Tyler Seguin and Phil Kessel will forever be intertwined, Knight will have the chance to develop into an NHL Star away from the limelight.
