Who didn’t get banged up for the St. Louis Blues Saturday night in St. Louis?
Lets go down the line.
Dallas Drake- left the game in the second period after taking a shot off his foot. X-rays were negative. He would return to the bench in the third but he did not play another shift. He should be ok by next Thursday when the Blues play Columbus.
Christian Backman- took a pretty big hit early in the game. He needed a stitch or two in the nose area, and grew a third lip on his face. He also would return to the bench but was not allowed to go back into the game. His dizziness and blurred vision did go away.
Keith Tkachuk- got up slow after a massive collision with Jeff Friesen. He did not miss a shift.
Doug Weight- left the bench for about 5 minutes after having his bell rung. He would return and finish the game.
Bryce Salvador- was very slow to get to his feet after colliding with Tony Amonte right in front of the St. Louis bench. He would finish the game.
Radek Dvorak- suffered mild back spasms during the game. He appeared to be holding his lower back but never left the game.
Blues Assistant Equipment Manager Steve “Swiss” Wissman has along strip of stitches on his face after a run in with a dumpster at the Blues practice facility. That happened on Friday.
Blues Head Equipment Manager Bert Godin received about 20 stitches after a skate clipped his forearm towards the end of the Blues loss to Calgary Saturday night.
Both Godin and Swiss were in good spirits following the game Saturday.
Defenseman Dennis Wideman did not play Saturday. He continues to suffer from a bone bruise in his hand. A further x-ray taken Friday revealed a small crack in his hand as well. He could miss another 1-2 weeks.
More to come,
