A Whole Bunch of Nonsensical Thoughts

Yost and Cloutier may be the two most clever writers on Hockeybuzz. Book it. These guys are making things happen when nothing is happening. Good on you two. *pats backs, rubs head like father figure*

Whether you like what Cloutier writes or not you should read him. He's entertaining, he's inquisitive and probably single but he's good and always worth a read. Same for Yost minus the single part I think.

How is it that the News of the World can hack the dead, the should be dead (politicians) and the soon to be dead (celebrities) and none of them have taken the fall yet?

How can the whistle blower's death be deemed 'not suspicious' by British authorities? Are these the same cops who were first on the scene with OJ?

On that same note of hacking did News of the World and Murdoch hire the same guys who hacked the NHLPA e-mails? I wonder if Fehr will be recruited to run a tabloid for Murdoch?

If Stamkos had re-signed with a Canadian club for a 5 year deal there would be a media circus and follow up commission to study the reason why it was not a 12 year deal. Bob MacKenzie would have been rushed back to TSN studios in his Bermuda shorts to tell us why the deal is wrong. Darren Dreger would have been told first by the NHL the numbers of the deal...oh wait that already happened- AGAIN!

Had Stamkos, at age 21, only signed a 12 year deal with a team in Canada you can bet the NHL would have voided the contract. No way would they allow a GM to only offer 5 years in Canada.

What's up with Calgary weather? People say players don't want to play in Winnipeg or Edmonton- has anyone seen how many top UFAs are lining to play in Cowtown? 3 feet of water dropped on Calgary yesterday. It's possibly the first summer in 6 years they have had a day over 25 degrees there. I'm not anti-Calgary I'm just pro-reality, it's bigger and is closer to the mountains but it's not better than any other small market Canadian location.

Is Blake Wheeler the next Isbister? While many in Winnipeg are happy to have the 6'5" forward signed the views from Boston are that he's just a re-incarnation of Mr. Stay Puft from Ghostbusters.

Tim Thomas does yoga as part of his training.

What part of the off season is the hardest part for everyone? For me it's there is almost nothing left to write about for another month yet I really want something to write about.

Have you ever taken a break from Twitter for a few days then loaded your 400 tweets and read them in reverse time line? You should. When read at a certain speed they say 'you should take a break from twitter more often'

I'm going on vacation in 13 days

Imagine being a guy like Dreger or Mackenzie or Mirtle on Twitter. Now imagine the amount of responses you see from your tweets. I'd like that.

Does anyone really believe the Dallas Stars are losing a million dollars a week? That's 52 mill/year. Shouldn't Mathew Hulsizer be interested in them by now?

Buffalo and Washington are going to make moves. They are both over the cap and right now and 4 teams are under the cap floor so that pretty much assures Ballard stays in Vancouver right?

The salary cap ceiling has gone up by almost 64% since 2006. The salary cap floor has gone up bu 220%. Wait.

The richest teams can only spend 64% more than they did in 2005-06 but the poorest HAVE to spend 220% more? Wait.

The NFL is about to end it's labour dispute... of course it is.

That's it for now. Hopefully Hansen is re-signed soon and we have something to talk about.
