WHO DO THE BILLS THINK THEY ARE, THE SABRES?

Rian Lindell, Roscoe Parrish and JP Losman must be sick of watching Max, Miller, Briere and Dru get all the headlines in Buffalo!

In a classic case of:

"Anything you can do, we can do better", The Bills upset the Jaxonville Jags, 27-24 at home today. Its the Bills second come from behind win in two weeks.

If I know the Sabres like I think I know them, they were probably huddled around the TV in the MSG lockerrom to watch the end of the Bills game. Perhaps a wager or two were placed in the Sabres room, too.

Marty Biron and Danny Briere are HUGE Bills fans, and they proudly wear their red, white and blue.

You see, the Sabres and Bills are like rockstars in Buffalo. Buffalo is unique in that its a big city, within a small town, within a little village. Many Bills live next door to Sabres. THAT's how small a town it is.

Unless you've been to Buffalo during Bills and Sabres season, you wouldn't think that there would be a real connection between the two teams. I remember during the Bills SuperBowl runs in the '90s, sitting with Kent Hull and Will Wolford at The Aud, hours after a Bills Blowout at Rich Stadium. Kent and Will were season tickets holder in the Golds back then. They would cheer like teenagers when Mogilney and LaFontaine would light the lamp. Glenn Parker and Reuben Brown were tight with Rob Ray not that long ago. They would ride Harleys together, and support one another in their charitable endeavours.

Kent Hull once told me that he all the respect in the world for his NHL breathren because they would lay it on the line 84 nights a season, plus playoffs. Kent joked once that, "These boys is crazy.. slammin into each other at 30 miles an hour, and punching the crap out of each other with razor blades on their feet. Tough dudes! "

Cool stuff.

On to the Sabres game !

Toni and Jochen will sit out again. Look for them to return Friday night. No need to rush them back just yeat, considering the Sabres will practice Mon-Thursday and they won't play again til Friday night at home vs. The Rangers.

*****

I'm awaiting word as to whether the Saberes have recalled Andrej Sekera for tonight's game. Funk would be sent back to the Amerks to make room for Sekera.

******

Same lineup as Friday night vs. The Habs.

Ryan, Stafford, Paille, Funk all in.

*****

Miller and Lundqvist.
