Ryan Miller's first game back to the Buffalo lineup was moving along swimmingly, with the Sabres holding a 2-0 lead late in the second period when repeat offender, Jordan Tootoo decided to drive Miller, leave his feet and thrash the Buffalo goalie to the ice.
Tootoo, the poster child for stupidity in the NHL, was rung up for a five minute charging penalty, as well as a game misconduct.
Paging Mr. Shanahan, Mr. Brendan Shanahan.
I love how Miller fed a half dozen leather blocker jabs to Tootoo's kisser after the collision.
Tootoo earned a five for charging and a game misconduct for his jackassery.
Miller appeared to be fine as he made a series of saves after the intentional collission.
Tootoo is a repeat punk, and he knows that he crossed the line.
I would be shocked if Brendan Shanahan goe slight on Tootoo for his clown act.
I call it 10 games for hammering a goalie who is playing a dominant role in his first game back from the head/neck injury he sustained at the hands of Milan Lucic on 11/12/11. Miller missed 9 games while he recovered from his injuries.
