Led by the strong play of Roberto Luongo and the Sedin Twins, the Canucks cruised to a 4-0 victory over a feisty Minnesota Wild team. The game was filled with chances for the Wild early, but Lu stood his ground and played outstanding. Once the Canucks got their feet under themselves, the Sedin Twins led the charge, finishing with three points each. I honour of the win, here is a short clip from Conan the Barbarian.
We win again!!!!!
The Canucks started out slow in this one. Their D was terrible at the start and turned the puck over numerous times, but each time Luongo was there to bail them out. When your goalie starts like Lu did last night, it gives the team a ton of confidence. Lu was there early last night and the rest of the team eventually came around and joined him after a slow start. The Sedin's got the Canucks scoring going on the power-play, when Daniel, found Henrik at the side of the net to beat Backstrom.
In the second the entire Canucks team woke up and started playing well. They carried the play for most of the period and were rewarded for it with two goals. The second Canucks goal would also come on the power-play when Ryan Kesler would out work the Wild in front of the net, and snap home a beautiful pass from Daniel Sedin. As the period was coming to a close, the Sedin's would again play keep away from the Wild while entering the zone. Daniel would find a streaking Burrows, with another great pass to finish off the play; 3-0 Canucks after two, and the game in complete control.
The Canucks would play a solid third period and handle the Wild when they pushed back. Luongo again stood his ground and was good in the third. Late in the period, Cody Hodgson would battle hard in front of the net before taking the puck behind the net and setting up Hansen for the final goal. I thought this play showed just how much heart Cody has. Despite the game being well in hand Cody went into the dirty area with the puck, took the abuse, out worked the defender, and made an outstanding play to setup Hansen.
All in all, I thought the Canucks played a decent game last night. The guys they pay to be stars were the best players on the ice. Lu was great and stopped everything. He looks back on form, and ready to put this team on his back if he has to. The Sedin's showed why they have won the last two Art Ross Trophies and dominated the game every time they were on the ice. I doubt Bolland's comment mean much to the twins, but they have now combined for 10 points in 5 games since the Blackhawk pest stuck his foot in his mouth. To me, that’s the best kind of response to someone questions how their manhood and toughness.
The rest of the team was solid in support of the stars. The D I thought could have been better and didn't have a good game moving the puck. The Pairing of Sulzer and Alberts I thought played a solid game as a 5/6 pairing. Sulzer was physical when he needed to be, and moved the puck well. Alberts brought what most fans think this D needs. Last night he was one mean, nasty, SOB on D. He delivered two huge hits, fought and blocked a shot.
Now the team can look forward to two more games at home before getting a short Christmas break. The team will be welcoming Detroit tomorrow night in what is sure to be a great game. After that the Canucks will face off against the Flames in a North West Division battle. I expect the team will be up for the Wings but I have concerns over how motivated they will be for the Flames. Let's hope they head into the Christmas break with two more wins.

Question of the Day?
The Canucks boasts one of the leagues deepest groups of forwards, with as many as 9 of them on pace or close to being on pace for 20 goals.
