Guess who will be attending tonight's Sabres/Islanders game? That's right. I'll be there supporting a team that has scored seven goals in the past six road games.
I realize that the Sabres have lost seven straight on the road, and have struggled against the Islanders in recent years.
I realize the Sabres played last night and New York didn't.
I realize that Buffalo have not won back to back games since November.
Doesn't matter.
After beating Toronto 3-2, I think the Sabres are back on the right track. They know they need to earn as many points as possible on this seven game road trip. Tonight may be the best opportunity for them to come away with two points.
This will be the second of four meetings between the teams this season. The Islanders took the first one back in Buffalo on November 29th by a 2-1 score, with Brian Rolston netting the game winner.
The Sabres have called up Joe Finley from Rochester. Finley leads the Amerks with 78 penalty minutes and has played three games with the Sabres this season. #legendofjoefinly continues.
The Islanders are coming off of a 3-2 loss against Philadelphia on Thursday night. New York is 1-18-5 against the Flyers in their last 24 meetings.
