Once again, the Sabres were outhit and outshot by the Panthers, however, this time they sqeak out the 2-1 victory.

The Panthers won the battle of the body, 24-10. They finsished their checks and initiated contact all evening.

They won then shots battle 33-16, with Ollie Jokinen registering seven shots by himself.

The one area the Sabres were better was the faceoff circle. The Sabres were 28-25, or 53%, the in dot.

The Sabres were 5 for 5 on the PK.

They finished the night 1 for 7 on the PP.

24 wins and 50 points.

Thats what the Buffalo Sabres have to show for their efforts thus far this season.

Well whattya know, the Sabres FINALLY score a Powerplay goal.

They are now 1-7 on the night.

Shoot the damn puck!

Drury makes a sweet no look pass to Max for the top shelfer. 2-1.

Vanek scores just as their Powerplay expired. 1-0 BUF.

Great patience in the crease to control the puck and make Belfour over-commit.

Stumpel answers for Florida, as Olesz wipes out DRoy in the corner. 1-1.

Roy and Max fly in 2 on 1 on Belfour, and Eddie The Eagle makes the monster save!

The Buffalo Sabres Powerplay is downright dysfunctional right now.

They came into this game 3 for their last 44 on the PP. They have are 0 for 4 tonight. Too many pretty passes and indecsion. The Panthers are jumping the passing lanes and they are picking off passes. They've stolemn a page from teh Habs and Devils' PK units.

The Sabres need to get the puck to the net and crash hard. They need to get their feet moving and SKATE !!!

Who the Hell cares what the play looks like ? Light the friggon lamp aleady!!

Its all about goaltending when these two teams play.

Ryan Miller made 10 saves on 10 shots.

His best great left pad/glove save point blank on Gary Roberts.

Eddie The Eagle made a couple of key saves of his own.

Its nice to see Danny Briere extending his Holiday well wishes to Belfour in the first. Even nicer to see Paulie Walnuts Gaustad pound Ollie Jokinen for his shot to Briere's midsection.
