News and Notes from the NHL Draft Combine: Day Four |
|
|
|
Today begins the physical testing for the NHL Draft Combine in Toronto. A lot of media are in attendance, and much of the day will be televised or at least shot for various sports shows. The following are some last minute tidbits I've been able to get that I found interesting. Enjoy.

- In total, the Montreal Canadiens will have interviewed 65 players this year. That’s a lot.
- Of note; Trevor Timmins, Montreal’s Head Scout, has mentioned spending some time with
Filip Forsberg’s family this year, getting to know them and him.
- Here’s an odd one for you:
Mikhail Grigorenko had the Anaheim Ducks ask him to remove his shoes in the interview, as they wanted a good look at his feet.
- Interesting note from last year’s Combine. Sean Couturier never interviewed with the Flyers, but did speak with 21 other teams.
- Another weird question flying around that has become quite common, apparently? “Do you have a boyfriend?” Not making this up.
- The Bruins have been using a color test this year with each interview. Fom the sounds of it, it hasn’t been too popular with the kids.
- Grigorenko wins shirt of the week awards. He’s been walking around in the bad boy above.
