In a time where rumors are a dime a dozen, it is hard to tell what is viable and what isn't.
However, every once and a while, a rumor comes out that seems to have some weight to it and actually turns out to be right.
Eurolanche is
reporting that the Avs are working to acquire and sign New Jersey devils forward Zach Parise.
The rumored deal is Jean-Sebastien Giguere, Chuck Kobasew, the 41st overall pick this year and a first round pick in 2013 (risky since that could be a guaranteed number 11 pick if there is a lockout) for Parise and Johan Hedberg.
After acquiring Parise, he has a verbal agreement on a seven year $49 million contract. The rumor cites Parise's friendships with Paul Stastny and Erik Johnson.
Still waiting on the official word but this site is the same one who broke the Matt Hunwick signing before anyone else so their credibility has been established.
