I just received an email response from Shane Doan's agent, Terry Bross.
I asked him if Shane in Buffalo on Monday?
"No he was not ", Bross responded.
There had been a smattering of buzz about an alleged Doan sighting in Buffalo. Not true.
Don't believe the hype.

I've been skeptical of a Doan signing with Buffalo. That is until I received this email response from Terry Bross over the weekend:
"Buffalo in mix putting together travel plans tomorrow (Sunday). Will advise when I know plan. "
As of 8pm EDT Monday, I have not heard back from Bross.
Here's the latest:
Doan met with prospective Coyotes owner, Greg Jamison, on Saturday.
So what if Doan's agent, Terry Bross gave Jamison the Friday July 27 drop dead date. Doesn't surprise me, or any other observer of this process. Tolstoy's "War and Peace" laughs hysterically at the Jamison-Doan never-ending saga. Punctuality isn't the only thing that defines Jamison. The guy is still $20ish million light in the wallet. The NHL are asking for a firm commitment of $170 million in exchange for the Desert Dogs. Jamison can only pony up $140ish million. There is no wiggle room. Its a "no dicker sticker". No pay, no play. Right now, Jamison is feverishly trying to raise the rest of the money. Car washes, bake sales, and beer and soda bottle-can return drives are not out of the question at this point.
The objective of Doan-Jamison rap session was designed to inform the big prize UFA on the status of Jamison's long and winding road of a bid to purchase the Phoenix Coyotes.
Welcome to week number five of the NHL UFA period. Doan and Jamison have been shadow dancing in a fluid market. Its the most frustrating two-step ever, as sixteen different NHL clubs have their hopes up that they can get their meat hooks into Doan. Six of the sixteen teams, including Buffalo, have already made official contract offers to Doan, who has been battling a five week case of the "yips". All these teams knocking down his door, and yet he's showing his allegiance to Jamison and the Coyotes. Doan's agent says that his client will not sign a contract with another team until Doan is 100% convinced that Jamison's bid to buy the Coyotes is dead.
Doan and his agent have been holding at bay the six teams who are contending for his services. The six teams, in effect are being told: we may or may not be available to you. We'll let you know if/when Jamison raises the proper amount of cash, Until then, you'll have to pay Doan $7.5+ million for four seasons, or more.
The Sabres are in the thick of the action on Doan. Darcy Regier has said publicly that he wants Doan in Buffalo. I'm sure the Pegulas, Lindy Ruff, and Ted Black feel the same way.
Buffalo's a great place to raise a family.
thanks, nhl.com

Shane Doan spoke with Rick Wile of @RadioNLNews in Kamloops, BC over the weekend.
Steadfastly, Doan said that he still wants to "get something done in Phoenix".
We get it, Shane. You don't want to leave. You love Phoenix. Phoenix loves you. You don't want to uproot your wife and four kids and beat feet across the globe.
Were I Doan, I'd be preparing my family for the inevitable exit from Phoenix.
As part of the promotion for their soon to b e released flick, "The Campaign", ball busters,Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakas crashed in on an event at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto on Monday.
Nice touch by rolling in on a Zamboni with Ferrell -- a puck head -- rocking his Kings sweater:
