The NHL Lockout is barely 36 hours old and I'm already over the insane amount of propaganda circulating on the internet, especially on Twitter. The lockout is terrible for many reasons, but the fact remains that we can't do anything about it unless we're an NHL player or owner. We can choose to gripe and get worked up about it or we can suck it up and move on. I've chosen the latter.

As my dad says, close only matters is horseshoes and hand grenades and right now the sides aren't even close. so, just let me know when a deal is signed and until then, I'll be occupying my time with college hockey which starts in less that three weeks with a slew of exhibition games and four games that matter on October 6th.

I know by the increasing number of questions I've been getting about the NCAA that many of you are hopping on the College Hockey Train. They've added some cars to the end, so climb aboard. There's plenty of room for everyone!

Start with my College Hockey 101 blog and follow it up with College Hockey 201 - Hobey Hopefuls that I wrote last month in preparation for the lockout. Starting October 5th, I'll have many options to help you navigate the college hockey world - a weekly 30 minute webisode introducing you to the various programs and players of note, a weekly podcast featuring a candid interview with an NHL prospect, a weekly recap of what happened over the weekend including highlights and, of course, blogs on blogs on blogs to keep you informed and up-to-date on everything that's happening in the wonderful world of college hockey.

I'm traveling to Boston later this week to chat with a couple teams before visiting 9 of the 10 DI hockey programs in New York on my way to the All-American Prospects Game in Buffalo at the end of the month. In October, I'll see Western Michigan, Notre Dame, Michigan State and Michigan for their exhibition games opening weekend followed by the Ice Breaker Tournament in Kansas City featuring Nebraska-Omaha, Notre Dame, Maine and Army. Then, I'm off to Alaska for the Goal Rush Tournament in Fairbanks featuring Alaska, Alaska-Anchorage, Merrimack and North Dakota and, finally, the Ivy Shootout in Providence at the end of the month featuring Brown, Dartmouth, Princeton and Yale…..and that's just October!!

If you have questions about players, programs, coaches, etc. let me know….I've got answers!

In the meantime, enjoy this segment of the College Hockey Spotlight from last season and send in your college hockey questions in the comments, email, Twitter or Facebook.
