How about an All Star debate and a little talk of a Rookie??

Alright due to the loss of last night's game I am in the mood to not talk about the Thrashers haha. I am sure that goes agaisnt all the rules since I am the Thrashers blogger but I just don't feel like I can say anything that doesn't involve a couple !*@#s or #!@*&$s (aka as words Ek would get mad at me for writing).

Here's something that has been on my mind since this whole "let's get 2 goals then lose at the end of the game" thing started:

I understand you can't just bring up a rookie whenever you want and that there are rules that you must follow to bring a rookie down etc. I know I do not know all the rules to this (please leave comments and let me know exactly how it works) but I do know I'd like to see a rookie down in Atlanta.

Yes, Krog is doing well but not amazing. If you keep up with the Wolves or the AHl then you know who Brett Sterling is. If you don't know go to NHL.com and check out the Sterling feature, go to theahl.com and look him up, or you can go to the Blueland blog on the Thrashers offical site and read the blog on him.

Sterling is a very aggresive rookie especially in front of the net. He is not the biggest guy out there (he stands at about 5 feet 7) but he seems to make things happened (point wise he is right behind Darren Haydar) and if you don't believe me just ask the professionals (or whoever picks rookie of the month)... Sterling was picked twice in a row for the AHL rookie of the month award. Seems like that qualifies him as "a very good player"... now I know a lot of people in Atlanta and Chicago will say I am absolutely crazy because most say things like Sterling is a rookie, he is small, and he "only does well" when he is centering Krog and Haydar or Haydar and Larose. Now if that is really the case don't you think he would do well in between Hossa and Slava or Hossa and anyone.. or anyone and anyone?? If you think about it someone like Sterling centering 2 NHL veterans could produce fantastic results.. I mean seriously if he does well in between 2 AHL veterans then wouldn't he do well in between NHL veterans?? Yes his size might be a problem against hard hitting veterans but that doesn't mean we shouldn't give him a chance. I hope DW and BH are really considering it, the Thrashers need a spark when it comes to our offense and Brett Sterling just might be the match that gets the fire burning.

Ok enough of that.. let's debate the ALL STARS shall we? It seems hardly anyone agrees with who was picked to start and how the voting goes down. So here is the question, if you had the chance to make a starting lineup (or team) for the ALL STAR game who would your "perfect" team be?? That's the 1st question and the 2nd question is how do you think the ALL STARS and the starting lineups should be picked?? The whole fan voting thing is not very accurate if thats the right word. As someone said fans pick THEIR favorite player, not who is the best player for that position (i am guilty of it too).
So bring it on ladies and gents... let me hear those answers and maybe I'll let you in on mine!!! :)

Enough for now!!
