Would he? Wouldn’t he? Will they? Won’t they?

Sabres GM Darcy Regier just announced in Buffalo that 18 year old rookie and former first rounder (12th overall 2012 draft), Mikhail Grigorenko will in fact play tonight vs. Toronto. Thus ending all speculation as to whether he will be sent back to the Quebec Remparts.

Kevin Snow of sabres.com tweeted that Grigo will play in his sixth game tonight and will be added to the Buffalo roster for the rest of the season.

Grigo joins an exclusive class of rookies will will stick and stay with their NHL clubs in Nail Yakupov, Alex Galchenyuk, Dougie Hamilton, and Jonathon Huberdeau.

The meter starts ticking on his $925,000 entry level NHL contract in 3…2..1…

Grigorenko's impressive junior career is over.

In 91 games played, he scored 69 goals and added 66 assists for 135 points. He was +44 in a season and a half in Quebec.

In 11 career QMJHL playoff games, he scored 3 goals and added 7 assists.







The last time the Sabres had an 18 year old on their regular roster was when they played rookie centre Pierre Turgeon in 1987.

Robyn Regehr has a lower body ailment and will miss the game. Mike Weber will take his place in th elineup.

TJ Brennan will be infused into the lineup in place of the ineffective Alex Sulzer.

Brennan's clapper from the PP point will help the Sabres tonight. its a leathal weapon.
