We can make all kinds of excuses for losing, but lack of hustle should never be one of them. What I saw against the Wings or Saturday night was a complete joke. I've tried to give myself a day to settle down, but it still pisses me off to watch millionaire lolly-gag their way off and on the ice.
At least two of the goals on Saturday were a result of player not working to get off the ice and/or player not coming on the ice with their head in the game.
If I'm AV and I see guys pulling up and gliding from 50 feet away or guys stepping on the ice without their head in the game, their ass would be on the pine. Time to stop the coddling and start the coaching AV.
Power-play
It's pretty much official, Vancouver's power-play is shit. Here's who I'd toss together tonight…
Sedin/Sedin/Sestito
Hansen/Garrison
Rational- Sestito is the biggest guy on the team and should be able to get his ass to the net and battle hard on the boards. Danny and Hank are 1-2 in scoring so they should be out there. And a left and right-handed shots on the point who can really fire it.
Hell, their 0-30 or something. It's not like it can get any worse.
And on that note, how does Newell Brown still have a job? If you went 3-4 games in the NFL without a TD, chances are your offensive coordinator would get the boot.
But hey, maybe I'm just being crazy today. Perhaps this problem could be solved by swapping assistant coaches responsibilities. You know, brown is an "A" list guy at keeping the puck out of the net so he could help our D and Bowness sure knows how to get scored on so maybe he could get the PP going.
