Safe to say that Sabres capo Jason Pominville is about to be traded.
Pominville skated with his team in Pittsburgh this morning. Afterwards, he didn't come right out and say it, however, he eluded to the fact that he did indeed submit his eight team veto list to Darcy Regier.
John Vogl of the Buffalo News reports:
Sabres Jason Pominville on submitting list: "By no means does it mean I’m gone or stuff like that. I think it’s just part of the process."
“I don’t want to answer by yes or no, but what I can say is Darcy has a job to do, and for him to be able to that in my case, in guys that have these kind of lists, for him to be able to listen, he needs to know,” Pominville said after Buffalo skated in The Burgh.
“I think it’s just part of the process. I mean, he said it a while ago that he was going to listen on anyone, so I think it shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone that this came out.”
Call the Mayflower truck.
By submitting his list, Pominville green lit a trade because he has a limited no trade clause.
Will Regier trade Pominville today?
If so, to which team?
I'm hearing: Detroit, Winnipeg, LA, Nashville, St. Louis and Columbus are all interested in adding a top six forward.
Detroit have cap space and are looking to fill top six forward injury holes left by Bertuzzi, Helm, and Samuelsson.
I'm hearing Pominville for Blake Wheeler trade rumours. Thomas Vanek and Wheeler, a RW, are very close friends.
St. Louis have a ton of cap space and are looking for scoring and depth.
Nashville are always hungry for more offense.
Columbus have a whack of first rounders and are interested in earning a playoff spot.
Phoenix may be a dark horse for Pommer. If they relocate to Quebec in the next little while, Pominville is a francophone who can assume leadership role and relate well with the Quebecois media.
Thomas Vanek skated today, however, he will not play tonight.
Luke Adam did skate and will play in place of Leino.
Adam Pardy didn't skate, however, is in transit to Pittsburgh. he will play tonight.
Kevin Porter was not waived by Sabres back to Amerks, therefore, he'll stay and play in Buffalo. He would have had to clear waivers to re-join the Amerks.
