Buffalo sticks with #8 pick

Here we go again with draft day.

The Sabres currently have two first round picks just like they did last year. After selecting Mikhail Grigorenko and Zemgus Girgensons last year, who will Buffalo take this year?

Many have wondered if it is worth it for the Sabres to try and move up in the draft. Holding the #8 and #16 picks, the Sabres could very well select two solid players. However, Buffalo could try to move up even higher in the draft and grab a top 3 or top 5 prospect.

Who will Buffalo take, or who do you want them to take? I guess the real question is whether or not Garth will be as high on the Sabres top pick as he was on Grigorenko this past season.

I have a couple of players that I'd target if I were Buffalo, assuming they don't trade up/down.

Elias Lindholm is a strong and exciting two way center. At 6 feet, 192 pounds, the Sabres could use a player of this size and skill in their top six.

Rasmus Ristolainen - a big defenseman that can help offensively and deliver some big hits.

It should be interesting to see what happens today. Regardless, the Sabres are in a position to make some good selections. Let's hope Regier and company do just that.

Do you want to see the Sabres trade up or are you content with the #8 pick?
