I'm a little delayed with posting the forward ranks because of work, but thought this would be a good time to comment about the rumours that are swirling about Douglas Murray.

I don't live in Vancouver and I haven't really checked out what they are saying about the possibility, so I won't comment on that side or opinion of the rumour. But what I have heard is the Calgary media and so folks on twitter mocking the possibility to no end.

Their big concern: Murray can't skate.

To that I say, "I don't really care".

12/13 - 89 hits, 98 blocked shots
11/12 – 137 hits, 143 blocked shots
10/11 – 203 hits, 140 blocked shots

Are his totals over the past three seasons. Vancouver's No. 1 and 2 issues on defence is keeping players out of Luongo's face and blocking shots.

Douglas Murray does both things very well. Does his skating suck? Yes. Do you have to skate like Coffey to play two feet in front of your net and make life hell for guys? Not really.

If Murray is willing to play for somewhere in the 1 million range he's a welcome addition, in my opinion.
